Where has my creative side gone?

Where has my creative side gone? When I lived in Japan I painted every week and wrote a successful blog. Over the last year and a half I've travelled throughout Australia, New Zealand, India and moved to Scotland but there’s been no painting, no drawing and no writing and I can’t say I've been short of some inspiration.

Now I have become trapped in the 9-5 grind. It’s too easy to work all day, come home and plant myself in front of the T.V. Whilst I've not managed to persuade myself to escape the 9-5 and become an artist; I've decided to stop being lazy, get out of my monotonous daily routine and back into blogging and painting (because I know you all loved Japan is My Canvas!).

My creative itch has come back all thanks to a couple of hours painting pottery. Last Saturday my best friend and I went to Doodles, a paint your own ceramic shop in central Edinburgh. The studio is full of a wonderful range of pottery. All you do is select your pottery, paints and sponges, roll your sleeves up and give it a go. As most of you know I am a fastidious perfection freak, it took me 1 hour of my 2 hour session picking the pottery and creating a design. Some seriously fast painting, a couple of hours of extra time and a glass bottle of prosecco later my piece came out like this:

So, watch this space. Lot of art inspired by Scotland to come.
